Donations
While the Christchurch City Council provides considerable annual funding to the Botanic Gardens, it does not cover all of the costs associated with maintaining and developing the Gardens.
Your donations enable the Friends to continue to support the Gardens, helping to ensure that we can look after plants like the Titan Arum, develop the Gondwana land area, develop and pay for information signage and brochures, specialist equipment or support skills training. You will help secure the Gardens for now and for the future.
There are a number of ways you can support the ongoing development of our gardens for the enjoyment and benefit of future generations.

Current project: Friends’ Trainee Scholarships
The Friends have recently been gifted a generous bequest specifically to be used for training for our wonderful Gardens staff. We have committed to matching this amount to set up a fund to provide apprenticeships at the Botanic Gardens into the future.
Your donation will not only support a trainee over a three year period, but will also ensure the Gardens have well-qualified staff to care for the precious collections they hold, well into the future.

Bequests
Leaving a gift in your will to the Friends of the Christchurch Botanic Gardens is one of the most enduring ways to provide for the future of the gardens.
